Since
1975, Si-Tex Marine Electronics has been a world leader in
marine electronics and innovation
Ted
Bodtmann, President, has been with Si-Tex since the
very beginning.
Allen
Schneider,Vice President of Sales, has been in the
marine electronics industry since 1973. He began as
a tech
and moved into
sales
in 1977. Allen was Regional Sales Manager for EPSCO
until 1982, joined Si-Tex in 1985 as the Northeast
Sales Manager and was at Simrad/Navico from 1998
until 2008. In 2009, Allen rejoined Si-Tex when they
opened their offices in Riverhead.
In
August of 2010, roughly one year after re-launching
SI-TEX Marine Electronics, industry veterans Allen
Schneider
and Ted Bodtmann have announced that the Long Island,
New York-based company is expanding its headquarters.
By taking over a facility adjacent to its original offices,
SI-TEX is able to consolidate its sales and technical
service operations at one location. As a result, the
company will be better able to meet the needs of dealers
and customers alike.
“
This expansion is an important growth milestone for
us as a company — but it’s even more
important to our dealers and loyal customers,” said
Schneider, Vice President/Sales for SI-TEX. “We’ve
built our reputation on response to industry needs
and providing
the highest level of customer service. This has been
a challenge over the past year, with our technical
service and repairs being handled from a remote
location. This
expansion is not only going to provide SI-TEX with
room to grow, it will allow us to do a better job
of delivering
the products — and knowledgeable
support — our customers and business partners have
come to expect,” added Schneider.
According
to Schneider, SI-TEX has experienced positive industry
reaction and surprisingly strong sales over
the past year, especially considering the prevailing
economic conditions. He believes that his company’s
way of doing business has made all the difference. “At
a time when other manufacturers have been scaling
back Customer service and Dealer support, we’ve
made it our top priority,” added Schneider.
SI-TEX has also continued to expand its line with
new products,
such as the new EC-Series multifunction navigation
system, SP36 autopilot, SVS-650 6.5” sounder
and CVS-1420 1kw 10.4” sounder. More new products
are in the works for Fall 2010 and 2011, said Schneider.
“
All things considered, we’re off to a very
good start,” said Schneider. “We have
a solid product line, the best sales representatives
in the business,
and now, a bigger facility that will help us improve
our Customer Service and Dealer Support. With all
this and more new products on the horizon, we’re
very excited about the future of SI-TEX.”
