Si-Tex's Allen Schneider spoke at LI Saltwater Fishing School Series on January 30 |
Top Angler and Magazine Editor Chooses SI-TEX Gear to Demonstrate Latest in Fishing Electronics School was in on Sunday, January 30, but the lessons weren’t about boring reading, writing and arithmetic. The subject matter for this school was far more exciting – how to use marine electronics to catch more fish in Northeast waters — and SI-TEX was there, front and center. This latest installment of the popular Long Island Saltwater Fishing School Series — run by noted fishing guide and Fisherman magazine editor Capt. John Raguso — took place at the Marine Max Boating Center in Copiague, New York. The teachers for this day were Raguso and Capt. Kevin Falvey, an experienced Long Island angler and Senior Technical Editor for Boating Magazine. These experts were on hand to instruct a couple dozen students on the finer points of marine electronics — the latest technology, what anglers really need and how to use it to improve fishing success. With so much to choose from and so many trendy “buzz words” being thrown around, fishermen found it very useful to hear what really matters from one of their own fraternity. Falvey and Raguso chose to use some of the latest SI-TEX equipment for the “show and tell” portion of this lesson, including the SVS-650 dual frequency color sounder and new SST-110 precision water temperature indicator. Our own Allen Schneider was even on hand to make a short presentation and answer student questions about choosing and using the latest marine electronics technology. “I enjoy getting out in the field and interacting with boaters and fishermen,” said Schneider. “Talking with customers and potential customers at boat shows and events like this one helps us to develop the products that boaters and the market really need.” |
