DISTRESS button, with protective cover, sends distress call with your own unique MMSI number to the Coast Guard and other DSC equipped vessels within range of your vessel. When connected to optional GPS unit, it helps the Coast
Guard respond more quickly to a Distress Call, since the location of the vessel in distress will be automatically transmitted when the signal is sent out. The DSC call transmits the caller's MMSI
number, the MMSI of the shop or shops being called, call priority and a frequency of mode request. Location and time of location may be entered manually or transmitted automatically with optional GPS. The Position
Send/Request feature displays received position data on a connected DSC ready plotter. The DSC-900 provides 25 watts of transmitting power and receives all channels, including 8 U.S. and 2 Canadian weather
channels. Scanning modes are Priority Scan, Memory Scan and All-Channel Scan. The waterproof design meets the JIS-7 standard. Large backlit LCD display for easy viewing. Backlit keypad for one button
instant access to channel 16/9, WX weather, scan, memory, Call key and a HI/LO 25W/1W power key. Call key makes a new call or returns the last incoming call. Selector to scroll through the channels and various menu
options, precision squelch, and volume knobs complete the control panel. Also includes microphone with UP/DOWN keys, built-in external speaker jack and adjustable mounting bracket

Individual DSC calls. DSC calling allows you to call other DSC equipped vessels, shore stations and you can even be patched into a regular phone line through a commercial coastal station by selecting their MMSI (Maritime Mobile
Service Identity) number from your directory, choosing a call type, and pressing a the call key. The DSC Calling Directory stores up to 10 MMSI numbers.
