Powerful 3kW Commercial Sounder Provides Variable Frequencies From 24kHz to 240kHz, Can Transmit on Four Separate Frequencies Simultaneously

SI-TEX has introduced the new Koden CVS-FX1 12.1- inch Color LCD Echo Sounder for the North American fishing industry. This new-for-2012 system boasts a large 12.1-inch XGA color LCD display, proven digital signal processing and 3kW RMS output power, making the CVS-FX1 an ideal choice for a wide range of commercial fishing vessels.

However, these are just some of this sounderʼs professional grade credentials. Koden has engineered the advanced CVS-FX1 with advanced features designed to help vessels fish more effectively and efficiently. For example, the CVS-FX1 provides true broadband sounding performance — able to transmit on variable frequencies from 24kHz to 240 kHz in 01.kHz steps. This not only lets fishermen fine-tune fish finding performance for particular fishing situations, it minimizes interference from sounders on nearby vessels.

Operators can select four frequencies within the range of the unitʼs two choices of broadband transducer. Model TDM-052 provides a low-frequency range of 38kHz to 75kHz and a high-frequency range of 130kHz to 210kHz. Model TDM-062 lets users “dial-in” low frequencies from 38kHz to 75kHz and high frequencies from 85kHz to 135kHz. This innovative system also has the unique ability to transmit on four separate frequencies simultaneously, for the most versatile fishfinding performance. Interfacing the Koden CVS-FX1 with an Airmar Broadband Transducer provides variable beam angle capabilities, as well.

All this technology can be used to help operators fine-tune sounder performance to pinpoint desired types of fish. This, in turn, helps reduce bycatch and makes fishing operations more productive and efficient. Other advanced Koden features found on the CVS-FX1 include Condition Memory, which lets the user recall each setting simply by pushing the CM key. Image Storage stores up to 500 screen images in the systemʼs built-in memory, for recall later with a single touch.

Built for serious professional use, the CVS-FX1ʼs LCD display features an anti-reflective coated filter that is bonded directly to the screen. This feature increases visibility in direct sunlight and prevents condensation in challenging environments. This sounder delivers a range of advanced functions including Interference Rejection, Noise Reduction, White Line, Draft/Water Temperature/Boat Speed Correction, and more. The CVS-FX1 covers depth ranges from 5 to 8,000 feet.

The CVS-FX1 also supplies connections for an owner-supplied CCD camera and an external monitor, for more versatile graphic presentations.
